Pieology Pizzeria Fresno location at the El Paseo Marketplace raised $1,155.83 for the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society, according to a company press release. The restaurant pledged to donate 100 percent of sales generated from a pre-opening event to the MS Society in order to affirm the company’s focus on social responsibility.

"We are grateful to the many people in the Fresno community who came out to support such a worthy cause" said Juan Rivera, Pieology general manager, in the release. "Our founders, the Chang family, inspire and encourage all Pieology team members to creative positive change. This is the first partnership of many and we’re proud to play our part in any way we can."

The Multiple Sclerosis Society is a national organization that helps people affected by the disease by funding research, facilitating professional education and providing services for individuals with MS and their families, the release said.

"It was an honor to team up with the individuals at Pieology to raise funds for our organization," Director of Central California for the National MS Society Fotini Alfieris said. "Every dollar raised by Pieology will help people living with MS in Fresno and San Joaquin, by funding research and programs."
