July 21, 2015

Pie Five Pizza is rolling out the dough at its newest location Friday, when it opens its first Indiana store at 48 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, around the corner from Monument Circle. Hours of operation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., the company said in a press release.

"Coming from Chicago, I have a powerful passion for pizza, and I felt it was my duty to bring Indy a taste of Pie Five's delicious, hand crafted, quality pizzas made fast," local franchise owner Carl Dissette said in a statement. "I know the entire Colt nation is going to love all the Pie Five choices and flavors, and I personally can't wait to have the BBQ Chicken pizza with added bacon (my favorite) more regularly!"

To kick off the celebration, 50 percent of Pie Five's pre-opening proceeds on Jul. 21 and 22 will be donated to the Damar Foundation, an organization enabling people challenged by autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities and related behavioral challenges to live more successful lives, the press release stated.

In a separate announcement, Pie Five Pizza Co. also introduced the Monster Brownie made with OREO cookies sandwiched between chocolate brownie and chocolate chip cookie layers and topped with an icing drizzle. The dessert is available until Aug. 23.
