Pie Five, a fast casual pizza brand, swore in its new President of Pizza to office, Hunter Todd of Franklin, Tennessee, according to a company release.
"I cannot tell a lie," said President Todd. "I love Pie Five. It's good to be President of Pizza. And I voted for myself…a lot. I may bankrupt the company, but hey, I won the election!"
As President of Pizza for Pie Five, Todd is allowed to eat free pizza for a year at Pie Five restaurants. He also will get free pizza for 25 of his friends for a year, his picture and presidential bio at www.piefive.com.
"To paraphrase the great President Rutherford B. Hayes, 'He serves his party best who serves the best pizza,'" said Randy Gier, Chief Eating Officer of Pie Five, in a statement. "Pie Five is known for serving the best pizza. Now we've got a president who will do nothing about it…except eat."
One new Pie Five is projected to open each week in 2015, the company said.
"We are on track with our development plans to aggressively, but intelligently, expand the Pie Five brand," said Gier. "Given the current leases executed for new company-owned and franchised restaurants and the pipeline of new potential sites, we expect to end the 2015 fiscal year with 60 to 65 total restaurants open in the Pie Five system, which includes an estimated 25 to 28 total company-owned restaurants."
