Dallas-based Pie Five Pizza will help kids hone their pizza-making skills, thanks to its partnership with KidZania, a global brand of interactive education and entertainment centers for children.
With locations in 21 countries, KidZania is opening its first U.S. location this year at Stonebriar Centre in Frisco, Texas. Pie Five, owned by Rave Restaurant Group, will have two locations inside the first U.S. KidZania — one where kids will role play as chefs who make Pie Five pizzas and another as a restaurant on the mezzanine level inside KidZania for guests, according to a company press release.
"This is an excellent partnership for us because we're able to educate children about how pizza is made, and even more importantly, about teamwork," Bob Bafundo, president of Rave Restaurant Group, said in the release. "Teamwork is at the root of every successful company, and this partnership allows us to make a positive impact on generations to come. We can't wait to be a part of the KidZania team, and we look forward to the growth this brand is bringing to our country."
Nearly 1 million children visit KidZania each year to have the opportunity to role-play more than 100 professions within an average 80,000-square-foot indoor city. They learn more about what careers they may be interested in, how a city works and how to manage money, Greg Stevens, CEO of KidZania USA, said in the release.
"The KidZania experience allows kids to learn about the world of work while building real-life skills like financial literacy, teamwork and problem solving," he said. "We're excited to have Pie Five on board to give kids the opportunity to experience what it's like to be a chef as they expand their knowledge of different careers."
Rave Restaurant Group has more more than 250 Pie Five and Pizza Inn restaurants operating domestically and internationally.
