Philippines-based bakery expanding US footprint

Philippines-based Red Ribbon Bakeshop, which specializes in sweet and savory baked goods inspired by authentic Filipino flavors and ingredients, is opening this week in Oxnard, California.

Since 1960, the Filipino community in Oxnard has grown from a few dozen homes on San Juan Street commonly referred to as "Little Manila," into a burgeoning community, making Oxnard the perfect spot for Red Ribbon's newest store location, according to a company press release. Located at 1941 N. Rose Ave., the shop marks the brand's 22nd bakery in California and 35th in the U.S. Founded over 40 years ago, it has over 500 global locations.

Jollibee Foods Corporation owns Red Ribbon as well as eight other brands spanning over 5,800 stores globally.
