Philadelphia-based Spread Bagelry is bringing its honey-boiled, wood-fired bagels to Buckhead next month, marking the brand's first entry into the Atlanta market and establishing a regional hub for the Southeast.

The 2,800-square-foot location at 147 Irby Ave. NW is scheduled to open in March. The facility will pull double duty as both a retail restaurant and a production center, supplying fresh bagels to future area shops until a regional commissary is completed to support growth across Georgia and the Carolinas.

Founded in 2010, Spread Bagelry is known for a specific artisanal process: bagels are naturally leavened, hand-shaped, boiled in honey-infused water, and baked in wood-fired brick ovens. The Buckhead site will be the 17th location for the company, which currently operates in four states.

"Buckhead is the perfect complement to our Southeast Coast bagel shops," CEO Tom Selementi, who joined the company in 2025, said in a company press release. "We're ready to help Atlantans win the morning."

Since taking the helm, Selementi has overseen an operational overhaul of the brand, including moving opening times to 6 a.m. daily and emphasizing "operational excellence without sacrificing craft."

The Atlanta shop will feature a mural by local artist Adam Crawford, part of the brand's effort to blend its Philadelphia roots with local community identity. The menu centers on the "Standard" breakfast sandwich and high-end ingredients like locally sourced malt.

The Buckhead debut is the first step in a larger Georgia footprint. The company confirmed that additional locations are already in development for Midtown, Dunwoody, and the Marietta/East Cobb area.
