Penn Station East Coast Subs opened locations No. 249 and No. 250 on Oct. 23 in Plymouth, Mich.; and Pikeville, Ky., respectively.
Four more openings are scheduled for 2012.
"We are thrilled to reach 250 restaurants this year," said Craig Dunaway, president. "This is the tip of the iceberg for our growth, and we look forward to continuing to expand concentrically from our home base in Cincinnati. This has been a great year for Penn Station, and we expect the coming years to be even better."
Penn Station is seeking entrepreneurs with prior restaurant experience as well as small, active investment groups to open at least five restaurants.
Founded in 1985, Penn Station has a presence in 13 states. All but two locations are franchised.
Projections call for the opening of 30 restaurants in 2012, increasing to 40 openings in 2013 and 45 in 2014. Markets targeted for growth include Kansas City, Mo.; Richmond, Va.; Chicago; Detroit; Nashville, Tenn.; and North and South Carolina.
