February 24, 2016

Penn Station East Coast Subs has opened its 300th restaurant in in Warren, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit, making it the eleventh Penn Station in the greater Detroit market, according to a company press release. The chain plans to open 25 restaurants this year, and several are already under construction, said Craig Dunaway, president of Penn Station.

"Reaching 300 restaurants is a great accomplishment for us, especially right on the heels of our 30th anniversary," he said. "We grow conservatively, focusing on the success of each individual restaurant. Of our 300 restaurants, only one is company-owned, so we are hyper-focused on profitability and ROI for our franchisees."

Penn Station, this year,  has opened restaurants in Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Michigan and has additional restaurants under construction in Illinois, Tennessee, Ohio, Missouri and Kentucky. The chain is targeting markets, including Kansas City, Atlanta, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Richmond, Virginia and Dallas for future franchise expansion, according to the release.
