Penn Station East Coast Subs announced today deals to expand for the first time into the Chicago, Atlanta and Dallas area markets.
PS DFW LLC, owned by a group of partners led by David Sherzer and Dave Coussirat, recently signed a 15-unit development agreement throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and is on track to have at least three restaurants opened in the area this year. The initial locations will be in Flower Mound, Southlake and Plano, Texas.
“We are very excited to bring the irresistible taste of Penn Station to Dallas-Fort Worth,” Sherzer said in a company press release. “We believe the fresh-baked and fresh-grilled sandwiches, fresh-cut fries, fresh-squeezed lemonade and fresh-brewed iced tea will be a big hit here.”
Alan English plans to open the first Chicago location open by fall 2014 with nine additional locations planned throughout the next five years. Areas targeted for development include The Loop, Evanston, Skokie and Oak Park.
Joining English in Penn Station’s latest Chicago venture are his brother, Ryan and father, John.
Joe Quatro and partner Neil Viljoen plan to open the first Atlanta unit by mid-July 2014 with four additional locations set to open within the next three years. Targeted areas include Dunwoody, Morningside, Brookhaven, Decatur and Sandy Springs.
Penn Station plans to open 30 restaurants nationwide in 2014. Additional markets targeted for growth include Kansas City, Mo.; Richmond, Va.; Detroit; Nashville, Tenn.; and North and South Carolina, as well as a number of other existing markets.
