Penn Station adds to development team

Ohio-based Penn Station East Coast Subs has hired Russ Smith as director of franchise sales as well as Tyler Kraemer to lead its franchise services team.

Smith has worked for The Athlete's Foot, Planet Beach, REGUS Business Center, Quiznos and at the American Family Care Urgent Treatment Centers.

As director of franchise sales, Smith's primary role will be to recruit franchisee candidates and sign development agreements.

"We're excited to continue growing our franchise development team and bring Russ on board," Penn Station COO Craig Dunaway said in a company press release. "With almost three decades of experience, we expect Russ to hit the ground running in franchise sales. Penn Station is coming off of a record year in 2021 for franchise sales, and we are ready to keep the momentum going in 2022."

Kraemer, who previously served as director of operations services for GSR Brands, will serve as the liaison between franchisees and Penn Station's technology partners. This includes leading the franchise services team to support store-level operations and franchisee back-office reporting, leveraging and managing relationships with IT vendors and facilitating and maintaining Penn Station's POS committee and IT training program, according to the release.
