Husband-wife Billy and Eva Axiotis are teaming up to open BE Pasta Bar, a fast casual pasta shop next month in Boston at 1026 Commonwealth Ave. The BE in the name stands for the initials of the couple's first names, Billy and Eva, who were born to Greek families who immigrated to the United States in the '70s and '80s and opened restaurants.

"At BE Pasta Bar, our mission is to provide fresh and high-quality food on-the-go for food lovers, Billy Axiotis said in a company press release. "We are looking forward to bringing a new pasta experience to Brookline and are committed to delivering high-quality meals in the fast-casual food industry."

Inspired by European pasta shops, BE Pasta Bar will serve daily homemade pasta prepared with imported ingredients from Europe, such as Mr. Papou's organic olive oil produced from its family-owned vineyards in Korinthos, Greece; fresh tomato sauce and authentic pasta-making equipment from Italy, which will create the shop's homemade fresh noodles.

Build-your-own pasta cups will start at $11 and offer rigatoni, macaroni, campanelle, fusilli and spaghetti pasta options with toppings such as homemade meatballs, local sausage, battered eggplant, and homemade sauces including pesto, alfredo, lemon garlic and more. Be Pasta will also serve sandwiches and fresh salad.
