Panera 'shaking' things up in Texas

Panera Bread locations in Texas are testing Bakery Shakes — frozen blended shakes inspired by bakery items, according to a company press release.

Options include:

• The Kitchen Sink, featuring Panera cookie pieces, blended with caramel syrup, a sprinkle of sea salt, vanilla cream and ice; topped with whipped cream and a drizzle of caramel.
• Fudge Brownie Swirl, which has Panera brownie chunks, blended with vanilla cream and ice; topped with whipped cream and a drizzle of chocolate.
• Strawberry Cheesecake Swirl, made of strawberry puree and cream cheese, blended with vanilla cream and ice; topped with whipped cream and strawberries.

The shakes are selling 30,000 units per day, according to the release, which stated the chain may roll out the beverages nationwide during the warmer months of 2023.
