Panera rolls out nationwide 'Drive-Thru Pick-Up'

Panera's Drive-Thru Pick-Up, which combines the ease of the digital ordering experience with the comfort and convenience of the drive-thru window, is available nationwide, according to Chris Correnti, SVP of channels and guest experience.
"Panera pioneered the idea of digital ordering in the restaurant industry, and for years, our guests have loved the option to order ahead and pick their items up on the Rapid Pick-Up shelf," Correnti said in a company press release. "Now we're extending that convenience to the drive-thru, giving our guests another fast and convenient way to get their favorite Panera meal."
Guests may choose the Drive-Thru Pick-Up option when ordering on the Panera app or website and pick up orders at the Drive-Thru without leaving their vehicles. To celebrate the national launch, MyPanera members using the feature in June will receive $5 off any order of $15 or more by using code 5OFFDTPICKUP at checkout.
Digital sales, including the app, kiosk and web, at Panera represent over 50% of total system sales, totaling over 3 million average transactions each week.
Panera locations featuring Drive-Thru Pick-Up will still offer the traditional drive-thru experience with the ability to order at the drive-thru screen.
The chain has 2,121 cafes in 49 states and in Ontario, Canada, operating under the Panera Bread or Saint Louis Bread Co. names.
