The first 2,020 consumers who sign up Thursday for the Panera Coffee Subscription (typically $8.99) will earn a month of free coffee and Wi-Fi. For those who don't make the cut but still sign up by Friday, Panera will give them each a month of free coffee and a baked good.
"Kids are going back to school in-person and virtually across the country, and once again parents are taking on more work and stress than ever before," Eduardo Luz, chief brand and concept officer, said in a company press release. "Panera's free, unlimited, premium coffee can help get you through the day, and the added bonus of Panera's Wi-Fi enabled parking lots and Curbside pick-up can give you a few minutes to recharge and a quick meal solution. "
The promo, according to the company, is for new subscribers only.
The chain first launched its coffee subscription in February and made it freethrough Labor Day.
