Panera launches 'croissant toast'

Panera has developed an innovation on bread, "Croissant Toast." Made from croissant dough, the all-butter croissant dough is layered, and sliced into flaky pieces of bread and is available on two sandwiches:

• Croque Monsieur Croissant Toast, featuring Black Forest ham, provolone and asiago cheeses with a caramelized onion and gruyere spread.
• Fromage Croissant Toast, which features provolone and American cheeses, caramelized onions, arugula and garlic aioli transform.

These sandwiches headline Panera's Spring menu refresh, which also includes the launch of the Strawberry Caprese Salad and the return of seasonal favorites like the Strawberry Poppyseed Salad and Mexican Corn Chowder.
