Panera inks Md. expansion deal

RICHMOND HEIGHTS, Mo. — Panera Bread has announced an agreement with Lemek LLC to develop new bakery-cafés in Maryland. Under conditions of the new agreement, Lemek will open an additional six bakery-cafés on top of its existing commitments.

Lemek LLC is principally owned by Brian Lemek, operator of 36 Panera Bread locations in the Baltimore and Washington, D.C., metro areas. Panera Bread recently awarded Lemek LLC its Featured Operator honor, which recognizes outstanding franchise performance in the Panera system.
