DENVER — Panera Bread plans to open five more restaurants in metro Denver in 2006.
Ken Rosenthal of the Denver area owns Breads of the World. He also helped create and start Saint Louis Bread Co., which later became Panera Bread.
"We have enjoyed tremendous success in this market, and look forward to the opportunity to expand our reach ...," Rosenthal said of metro Denver in a statement.
The chain's bakery/cafe-type restaurants feature sandwiches made with artisan bread, salads and soups, bagels and pastries. Panera Bread has a total of roughly 825 restaurants in 35 states.
