Panera Bread has expanded its menu through the offerings of three new items: the Thai Chopped Chicken Salad, Low Fat Wild Berry Smoothie and Breakfast Power Sandwich.
The items rolled out onto Panera Bread menus in early January and feature:
Thai Chopped Chicken Salad: All-natural chicken, romaine, wonton strips, a blend of fire-roasted edamame, red bell pepper and carrots tossed in a Thai Chili Vinaigrette and topped with strips of seasoned grilled chicken, Thai cashews, fresh cilantro and a peanut drizzle.
Low Fat Wild Berry Smoothie: Blends apple and blueberry purees with blueberry and raspberry juice concentrate and Stonyfield Farm organic, low-fat vanilla yogurt.
Breakfast Power Sandwich: All-natural eggs, a slice of Vermont white cheddar and smoked, lean ham all grilled between two slices of freshly baked Whole Grain bread.
The Thai salad and Breakfast Power Sandwich have received a majority of positive reviews on the company’s Facebook page; however, some of the comments have expressed dissatisfaction with the levels of sodium, calories and fat.
The Thai chicken salad is 390 calories, 15 grams of fat and has 1,380 mg’s of sodium. Meanwhile, the Low Fat Wild Berry Smoothie has 290 calories, 1.5 grams of fat and 90 mg’s of sodium, and the Breakfast Power Sandwich is 330 calories, 14 grams of fat and 830 mg’s sodium.
