Panda Express opening 7th NYC unit

Panda Express is opening a seventh New York City location Dec. 14 as it continues its East Coast expansion efforts. Located at 414 Eighth Ave., the unit will open Dec. , donating 20 percent of the day's proceeds to Hartley House, a non-profit organization that provides social, educational and recreational services to those who live and work in Hell's Kitchen, according to a company press release.

To celebrate with residents around the grand opening, Panda Express will hand out thousands of fortune cookies in New York City starting Dec. 12. The giveaways also include coupons for a free drink, free extra entree or a free chicken egg roll or veggie spring roll, according to the release. Those present on grand opening day will have the opportunity to take photos with the Panda Express' panda mascot and taste samples of the restaurant's menu items.

"As a family-owned restaurant, we are excited to share our American Chinese story and offer our iconic menu to a greater number of Manhattan residents, as we grow within the market," said Apo Chavez, area coach of operations for Panda Express. "We also look forward to supporting the region through continued charitable efforts and job opportunities in the Hell's Kitchen area."
