Pancheros Mexican Grill has named Doug Ormsby and Dan Sacco as its 2015 franchisees of the year and Original Juan as its vendor of the year.
Recipients of the annual awards are commended for helping Pancheros exceed companywide business and financial growth goals for the previous year, said Rodney Anderson, president of Pancheros Mexican Grill.
"This year's winners are extremely hard working and have consistently proven their devotion to Pancheros by jumping in on special projects and making significant contributions to the brand as a whole," Anderson said. "This enthusiasm has directly impacted our success in 2015, and speaks volumes about each recipient's dedication to the growth and success of our business."
2015 franchisees of the year
Having been Pancheros fans for years prior to becoming partners, Ormsby and Sacco opened their first location in Davenport over 10 years ago with their Dubuque store opening a few months later. The pair were recognized for being actively involved in operations at both restaurants, keeping up with the changing marketing landscape and adopting newly discovered practices.
"At the end of the day, our goal as franchisees is to provide our guests with the best service and highest quality food," Sacco said. "Doug and I have had such a positive experience working with Pancheros all these years, and we can't thank them enough for this incredible honor celebrating our passion for connecting with guests in both markets."
Vendor of the year
Original Juan, which has been working with Pancheros for five years, originally partnered with the franchise to develop its proprietary Greenade and Flavolcano sauces. When asked to help tweak Pancheros' protein marinades, the Kansas City-based distributor welcomed the task with open arms and came up with a solution within weeks by ramping up production and taking on large-scale production for locations across the nation, said Kit Maxfield, product manager at Original Juan.
"Our great relationship has allowed us to successfully collaborate on a number of projects, developing a much deeper understanding of both the company and its customers," Maxfield said. "Working closely with a brand such as Pancheros has been a remarkable journey, and we are looking forward to many more years to come."
