Oregon entrepreneur opens Togo's in Eugene

January 21, 2013

Eugene, Ore., is the latest city to welcome Togo's Eateries Inc. The West Coast-based sandwich chain opened at 954 Pearl Street.

"I am thrilled to bring the first Togo's location to Eugene and am confident that local residents will become big fans of the brand if they have not already tried our delicious, seriously stacked sandwiches, wraps, salads and more," said John Anderson, Togo's franchisee.

After years of visiting Togo's during his college years at Oregon State University and family trips to Southern California, Anderson decided to open his first Togo's location in his hometown. As the third generation president and co-owner of his family's truck stop center in Coburg, Ore., the entrepreneur said he recognized the value of investing in the Togo's brand. In addition to his first location, Anderson plans to open a Togo's at his existing truck stop, along with two other restaurants in the Eugene area.

Recently, Togo's marked its 40th anniversary with more than 250 locations open on the west coast of the United States. Even with this latest opening, Togo's is still seeking to reach 400 new locations in California and other key markets such as Arizona, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington by 2015.
