Oraclehas launched an artificial intelligence-backed system to consolidate back-office functions — including inventory, procurement, scheduling, production and cash management — into a single platform to help restaurant operators improve efficiency and profitability.

Dubbed Oracle NetSuite Restaurant Operations, the platform brings together data from Oracle Symphony Cloud and other point-of-sale systems, providing a single source for key performance indicators, trends and other operational data that support decision-making and predictive performance, according to a company press release.

"Restaurants have traditionally relied on a patchwork of systems to manage inventory, purchasing, finance and other critical processes," Brian Chess, senior vice president of AI, product and technology at Oracle NetSuite, said in the release. "By connecting operational and financial data in one system, businesses gain real-time visibility into performance across locations, reduce complexity and make faster, more informed decisions."

Oracle specializes in enterprise software, cloud computing and hardware. Oracle NetSuite is a cloud-based enterprise resource planning system that manages business processes on a single platform.
