Oakberry, which serves açaí and smoothies, has selected Qu's unified commerce platform to anchor its aggressive expansion into the United States.
The partnership provides the Brazil-based chain with an integrated suite of point-of-sale systems, self-service kiosks and kitchen displays as it moves to scale its footprint across the country.
Oakberry, which operates nearly 1,000 locations globally, has 50 U.S. stores and a development pipeline of more than 250 planned units. The brand's U.S. push follows a $67 million Series C funding round in 2024.
"Our growth ambitions in the U.S. require a platform that can scale with speed and accuracy while keeping operations consistent across every location," Tatiana Favery, Oakberry's head of U.S. and Canada, said in a company press release.
Favery said Qu's open architecture allows the brand to integrate existing partners for digital ordering and loyalty while maintaining a stable core operation.
The transition to the platform is already yielding results, accelerating employee onboarding by up to 75%. Additionally, Oakberry is using Qu's hybrid kiosk model, which the technology provider claims can increase average check sizes by up to 22% through automated cross-selling tools.
The rollout also includes Qu Business Edge, an AI-enabled edge computing platform designed to prevent service interruptions. The technology allows stores to continue processing orders during internet or cloud outages, maintaining a 99.99% uptime.
"Oakberry is expanding quickly in the U.S.," Sean Brennan, director of sales at Qu, said in the company press release. "Qu gives high-growth brands a single operational workflow that supports scale and drives measurable revenue lift."
Founded in Brazil in 2016, Oakberry has built a global presence by positioning organic, responsibly sourced açaí as a customizable fast casual indulgence. The brand operates in 45 countries.
Qu is the restaurant technology company evolving POS, responsibly, for a more sustainable future. With the industry’s first unified commerce platform, Qu’s fully integrated products go beyond fragmented ordering and tech experiences to create healthier connections for restaurant operating teams and their many stakeholders.
