NYC soup shop adds cloud-based tech

Hale & Hearty Soups, a New York City-based fast casual chain, has tapped Appetize Technologies Inc. to upgrade its point-of-sale operations at all 20 locations in NYC, Long Island and Boston. Following a successful October pilot at the Herald Square location in Manhattan, the soup chain rolled out Appetize's advanced cloud technology at over half its restaurants and will continue the chain-wide deployment though January 2021, according to a company press release.

"Our goal is to create a memorable dining experience at all Hale & Hearty locations, and Appetize has helped us exceed expectations with its cloud technology," Mark Feit, director of Business Development at Hale & Hearty Soups, said in the release. "The company's commerce platform is easy to use for our staff, and it significantly improved day-to-day operations, from simplifying orders to providing hassle-free analytics and real-time reports in a convenient management portal — a tremendous leap from our previous system.

Appetize's zero-training terminal interface is intuitive, designed for ease of use, speed of service, and increased productivity, Feit said.

"Our teams have even been able to perform most of the installs ourselves, enabling a rapid deployment even under lockdown conditions," he said. "Appetize addressed items high on our list, and we look forward to continuing our partnership for many years to come."

Management and staff also have access to Appetize Connect Enterprise, a web-based management portal designed to power multi-site operations giving Hale & Hearty a real-time management and reporting tool. The platform features menu management, reporting and analytics that can be accessed remotely.

Appetize's Open API allow s Hale & Hearty to work with several other partners, including NetSuite for inventory and ERP management; LevelUp for a branded app and loyalty experience and Givex, a platform for gift cards, according to the release.

Appetize also integrated with two new partners to improve staff and customer experiences at all locations: 7shifts labor management platform for scheduling, communication, time and attendance and ItsACheckmate platform for online ordering, delivery integration and menu management.
