Noodles & Company is testing Panko Chicken made by Impossible Foods in select markets. Guests may order the meatless option in the chain's Orange Chicken Lo Mein dish or as an addition or substitution in any meal.
The Panko Chicken, which has crunchy and meaty texture, a crispy exterior and a juicy white interior, contains 13 grams protein, no cholesterol and only 2 grams of saturated fat per serving, said Nick Graff, executive chef and vice president of culinary at Noodles & Company.
"Our guests took so well to Zoodles, Caulifloodles and our upcoming LEANguini launch, that adding a delicious plant-based protein option to our menu was the clear next move to explore," he said in a company press release. "When selecting a partner to test our first-ever plant-based protein Impossible™ Foods was an easy choice. Like Noodles, Impossible™ believe that the future starts with your plate and we're moving forward to change one meal at a time."
