Restaurants are prioritizing swift digital launches, with brands like Nick the Greek, Hawaiian Bros and Pei Wei adopting solutions from Lunchbox, a multi-unit restaurant technology provider, to accelerate growth, said James Walker, CEO of Lunchbox.

"Operators don't need another endless implementation cycle," he said in a company press release. "They need to go live, collect data and start driving revenue."

Lunchbox reported a record number of client launches and enterprise signatures in the first half of 2025, driven by a growing demand for digital ordering and first-party catering platforms. The company said its new 90-day launch process, which includes agile "sprint" teams, has reduced the time it takes for restaurants to go live.

Recent clients include:

  • California-based Nick the Greek, which launched native catering across 84 locations in 93 days.
  • Texas-based Pei Wei launched its full catering and order aggregation suite across 100 locations.
  • Kansas City-based Hawaiian Bros deployed a full catering and order aggregation stack with a phased rollout.
  • Layla Bagels, headquartered in California, went live on web, app, loyalty, catering and gift cards in under 66 days.

The move toward first-party digital channels is a growing trend as restaurants seek to control guest data and build long-term loyalty after years of relying on third-party marketplaces, Walker said.

Lunchbox provides a suite of products, including web and app ordering, catering and marketing tools. It serves over 5,000 restaurant locations nationwide.
