Nick the Greek, a Northern California-based chain serving Greek street food, has expanded its Nevada footprint with its latest opening in Reno. Operated by franchisee and local resident Bridger Johnson, the location establishes Nick the Greek's presence in northern Nevada, kicking off the brand's expansion plans in the area.
"When I first tasted Nick the Greek, I knew it was exactly the type of concept we needed in Reno, so I am thrilled to debut the brand in Northern Nevada and look forward to seeing the community embrace and enjoy the restaurant for years to come," Johnson said in the release. "The food is authentic, bursting with flavor, and will quickly transport diners from Nevada's Biggest Little City in the World to the lively and memorable streets of Greece with one bite."
Established in 2014 by cousins "Big Nick," "Little Nick" and "Baby Nick" Tsigaris — each named after their grandfather per Greek tradition — Nick the Greek draws from two generations of restaurant experience and countless visits to Greece. The street food-inspired menu features rotisserie gyro meats, charbroiled souvlaki skewers, sauces, fresh vegetables and sweet treats.
"We're delighted to have Bridger as a franchise partner in this new market, as he has deep local knowledge and is as passionate about Nick the Greek as we are," Nick "Baby Nick" Tsigaris, co-founder and CMO, said in the release. "As we close in on our 80-unit milestone, we know that our steep growth trajectory wouldn't be possible without dedicated, reliable franchisees like him, and we are grateful for his vision and commitment to the brand."
Nick the Greek is on pace to reach 80 restaurants by year's end and will enter its 10th year in business.
