Newk's Eatery has opened its second Austin restaurant at 408 Congress Ave. Operated by franchise partner, Austin Eateries, the 5,161-square-foot restaurant offers multi-level dining for more than 170 guests. It includes a rooftop patio with sliding garage doors to transition the space from outdoor to indoor, according to a company press release.
"We're thrilled to open this restaurant in the heart of both the historical district and the burgeoning tech and business center of Austin," Chris Newcomb, Newk's chief executive officer and co-founder, said in the release. "We loved the challenge of keeping the building, built in 1889, as historic as possible, and preserved as much from the original brick within our design. It will be one of Newk's' flagship restaurants due to its historical aspect, multi-level design and a rooftop patio with incredible views of downtown."
For guests in a hurry, the restaurant will feature online ordering, mobile app/skip-the-line options, and a grab-n-go cooler section filled with sandwiches, salads, soups, desserts and beverages. For those seeking a catering option, the location will offer a full catering menu with specialists on site to assist and help build the perfect spread.
The centerpiece of the Newk's dining room is The Roundtable, featuring a bounty of complimentary condiments and extras, including house-roasted garlic in Italian extra-virgin olive oil, grated Parmesan cheese, capers, imported pepperoncini, Torinesi-style breadsticks, hand-cut house-made croutons and guest favorite, bread-and-butter pickles, according to the release.
