Newk's Eatery, based in Jackson Mississippi, is opening three restaurants for on-the-go diners on the Alabama coast, according to a company press release.
Joining Newk's existing location at the intersection of Azalea Road and Airport Boulevard, the brand this week opened a new location in McGowin Park Shopping Center to be followed closely by the opening of a third restaurant at Westgate Pavillion on Airport Boulevard near the Schillinger Road intersection.
In addition to the three metro locations, Newk's will soon expand to the eastern shore for the first time with the unveiling of a final restaurant in the Eastern Shore Centre in Spanish Fort, said Chris Newcomb, Newk's Eatery's CEO and co-founder.
"Having been a part of the Mobile community since 2007 with our restaurant on Azalea Road, we’ve experienced firsthand local diners' appetites for the kind of fresh, vibrant flavors that have become Newk's calling card and that fit so well with coastal living," Newcomb said. "With a menu that is prepared fresh daily with premium, often imported ingredients, we're excited now to be growing and sharing our signature 'foodie' approach to fast-casual dining with more diners on both sides of the bay."
The chain has 90 locations in 13 states and plans to expand to more than 200 units by the end of 2018, Newcomb said.
