New agreement pushes Pie Five’s franchise deals beyond 200 units

Pie Five Pizza Co. announced a new franchise agreement for eight units with Lubbock, Texas, native Nathan K. Cage. According to a news release, Cage will introduce the brand to Lubbock, Amarillo, Odessa, Midland and Abiliene, Texas, beginning in early 2015.

Cage also owns several Wingstop restaurants in his hometown.

"My wife, Twila, discovered Pie Five in Fort Worth in 2012 and suggested I try it as well. Seeing how she's also the one who introduced me to Wingstop, I had a feeling this was going to be lightning strike number two," he said in the release. "Fast casual concepts are growing like wildfire and Pie Five has clearly distinguished itself within the pizza space."

CEO Randy Gier said this deal puts the brand over the 200-announced-franchise-units milestone.
