NBA's Sidney Green joins Earl of Sandwich

ORLANDO, Fla. — National restaurant chain Earl of Sandwich has hired former NBA star Sidney Green as its new director of Non-Traditional Development, the company announced in a news release.
Green's responsibilities will include working to recruit new franchisees for the Orlando, Fla.-based chain. His work will begin at the NBA All-Star weekend in Las Vegas, Feb. 16-18.
"I joined Earl of Sandwich because of the great opportunity to be part of something as it's growing," said Green. "I wanted to do something different and telling this wonderful story, recruiting new franchisees is a really new and exciting experience for me." Green, who retired from the NBA in 1993, played for the Chicago Bulls, Detroit Pistons, New York Knicks, Orlando Magic, San Antonio Spurs, and Charlotte Hornets during his 10-year NBA career. "We've kept in touch with Sidney throughout his career and we're thrilled to have him on our team," said Robert Earl, founder of Earl of Sandwich. "He brings a lot of perspective to development with a competitive mindset that comes from being a professional athlete."
