Pitmaster Carey Bringle, who launched Peg Leg Poker in 2013 in Nashville, opened a second barbecue joint earlier this month. Bringle's Smoking Oasis is not the typical West Tennessee-style barbecue in which he's known, however, according to a company press release.
Menu offerings include Texas-style brisket, beef ribs and smoked turkey, as well as roasted street corn and Texas-style baked beans. It also has a grab-and-go station with snack-type foods like hamburgers, hot dogs and other kid-friendly menu items as well as a fully stocked bar will a cocktail menu, frozen drinks Bringle's brand of bourbon, Peg Leg Porker Spirits.
Housed at a former service station, the triangular island-shaped property offers a spacious, open-air patio, according to the release.
Bringle has been competing in barbecue contests for more than 25 years and founded Peg Leg Porker, which is named after him to honor his triumph over cancer at the age of 17.
