Muscle Maker Grill signs 15-unit Connecticut deal

October 23, 2012

Muscle Maker Grill has signed a multi-unit franchise agreement to develop 15 restaurants in Connecticut. The contract is the chain's first franchise deal in the state and continues Muscle Maker Grill's growth nationwide.

"Our unique concept featuring healthy food that tastes great creates a true alternative for people looking for a healthy option in their fast-paced lives," said Rod Silva, founder of Muscle Maker Grill, in a press release. "We are thrilled to reach an agreement to bring our lean, protein-based menu of favorite foods, such as chicken, seafood, pasta, burgers, wraps and entrée salads, to Connecticut."

The first Connecticut location is scheduled to open in Fairfield County in early 2013. Ten Muscle Maker Grill restaurants will open there, while the remaining five are slated for New Haven County. They will be operated by franchisees Robert Painter and Craig Platt, both Connecticut natives.

The new units will bring the chain, which currently has 62 locations, significantly closer to meeting its goal of 100 locations by early 2013. Connecticut marks Muscle Maker Grill's 11th state.
