Muscle Maker Grill opens in Texas

December 1, 2011

Muscle Maker Grill has opened its first Texas location in Austin, just minutes away from the University of Texas. The restaurant is the first of 10 scheduled to open in the Austin and Dallas areas over the next five years.

“We are thrilled to bring our unique concept to the Austin community,” said Rod Silva, founder of Muscle Maker Grill. “I am confident that Muscle Maker Grill is a perfect fit for the active lifestyle in Austin. The location of the restaurant is ideal for students attending the University of Texas that are looking for quick, high protein meals to give them the energy they need for classes and studying.”

The owner of the new restaurant, Matthew DeLeon, decided to bring Muscle Maker Grill to his home state after discovering the chain while visiting New York. DeLeon, who was born and raised in Texas, has signed an agreement to open 10 Muscle Maker Grill restaurants in Texas and is currently negotiating lease agreements for the nine other locations.

Muscle Maker Grill was founded in 1995 by Silva with the goal of offering people a nutritious alternative to fast food restaurants. The menu features lean and protein-based dishes such as chicken, seafood, pasta, burgers, wraps and entrée salads.
