MOOYAH to enter Ark., La., territory

November 30, 2010

MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes has announced its expansion into Arkansas and northern Louisiana through deals with six new franchisees in the states.

Scott Strzelecki, a Little Rock, Ark., franchise development agent, is overseeing the new spots and guiding the new franchise owners through the process. Strzelecki expects up to 20 new locations in Little Rock, Jonesboro, Fayetteville, Russellville, Pine Bluff, Texarkana, and Monroe, Louisiana, he said.

"Considering that the company just began franchising in 2007, the growth of the brand has been phenomenal," said MOOYAH co-founder Rich Hicks. "Tennessee was our first expansion out of Texas, and Arkansas and Louisiana are big steps toward becoming a national brand."

Fifteen-unit MOOYAH was recognized in 2009 by FastCasual.com as the No. 1 top 100 mover and shaker for the year. Since then, the company has opened three additional locations and has signed franchise deals to launch another 221 restaurants.

"MOOYAH's goal is to give everyone who comes in a 'wow' moment," Hicks said. "Quality, convenience, service and atmosphere is what we're all about."

In the Dallas/Fort Worth region, MOOYAH also has partnered with Vogel Alcove for a 12-day clothing drive benefiting the alcove's center for homeless children.

To kick off the event, MOOYAH is offering free Junior Burgers and $1 MOOYAH, veggie and turkey burgers to guests who donate new and gently used articles of clothing for children ages 6 weeks to 6 years old. The event begins Dec. 1.

Frisco, Texas-based MOOYAH has 11 locations in the DFW area.
