Mooyah hires former Capriotti's exec to lead growth

Mooyah Burgers, Fries & Shakes has hired Michael Meche as its president. He previously served as chief restaurant officer for Capriotti's and Wing Zone, where he focused on improving guest experience and franchisee performance. His career began at Papa John's, where he ultimately led operations for over 3,000 locations across North America.

"My leadership philosophy is simple: nobody works for me; rather, I work for them," Meche said in a company press release. "I believe the best way to grow a brand is to support the people behind it."

As part of his initial 100 days, Meche plans to meet with franchisees and team members and has begun secret-shopper visits to restaurants. He also intends to complete the brand's in-store franchisee training program.

Anand Gala, founder and managing partner of Gala Capital Partners, Mooyah's parent company, expressed confidence in Meche's ability to drive the brand's next phase of growth due to his "hands-on, servant-minded leadership and deep franchising experience."

Under Meche's leadership, the brand will prioritize tailored franchisee support, operational consistency and guest experience. By year's end, it will have added eight locations featuring drive-thrus, updated kitchen technologies, self-order kiosks and digital menu boards.
