With record growth in 2012, MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes is prepared to achieve another milestone in 2013, eyeing nearly 70 restaurants by year-end
Throughout the first two quarters of 2013, MOOYAH increased its unit count by 10 percent and awarded 26 units in the U.S., while also awarding another three units internationally.
"We are maintaining a keen focus on adding multi-unit franchisees to our system – which has helped us gain momentum in 2012 and enabled us to continue to be successful in 2013. We're looking for operators with deep experience within the restaurant industry and also savvy business owners interested in working with us to learn the ins and outs of the burger world," said Michael Mabry, director of franchise.
In the first half of 2013, the growing burger franchise awarded units in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Illinois, while opening eight units in Texas, Arkansas and Washington.
"We continue to penetrate the markets where we have restaurants, while also focusing on multi-unit development in emerging markets," Mabry said. "By following this path, we are able to establish strong brand awareness in the market, which helps us compete in an extremely competitive arena."
Not only was the 50-plus unit fast casual, "better burger," fries and shakes chain named in USA Today's Top 50 Franchises for Military Veterans in June of this year, but MOOYAH also earned a No. 8 ranking in FastCasual.com's annual rankings of the Top 100 Movers & Shakers.
"Our ranking showcases the continued hard work and dedication of our entire system," said Bill Spae, chief executive officer and president of MOOYAH. "Our domestic and international development agents and our great franchisees have paved the way for our continued growth and desire to own a piece of the 'better burger' segment."
MOOYAH is continuing its expansion efforts, already awarding an additional 29 units, with plans to provide 400 jobs to local communities in 2013.
