As Memorial Day weekend approaches, Pie Five is getting patriotic by kicking off the start of summer with a limited-time offering of Granny's apple pie. Through June 19, guests can order the all-American favorite, albeit in a pizza body, with a snickerdoodle cookie crust, spiced apples and cinnamon streusel crumble.
"We took an old favorite and gave it a Pie Five twist," said the company’s vice president of research and development, Patty Scheibmeir. "With summer just around the corner, Granny's Apple Pie captures the burst of warm and fresh summer flavors.”
Apples used in the pies are from Lucky Leaf, comprised of veteran U.S. apple farmers. It doesn’t get more American than that.
