Franchising is working well for three Focus Brands concepts. The Atlanta-based company reported Friday that Moe's Southwest Grill, Schlotzsky's and McAlister's Deli each saw a variety of franchise successes in 2016.
Moe's experienced a strong year in 2016, with $668,040,198 in system-wide sales. It opened 66 restaurants last year, and will continue its aggressive expansion this year with plans to developed new restaurants in significant markets, including L.A., Orange County and Riverside counties in California, according to a company press release.
The chain has nearly 700 franchised locations in the U.S. across 39 states.
McAlister's Deli also had a successful year of franchise growth in 2016, with $591,303,426 in system-wide sales and 33 restaurants opened. Commitments were signed to open future McAlister's restaurants in several states including Wisconsin, Nebraska, Illinois, Indiana, Georgia and Alabama.
McAlister's operates more than 400 locations in the U.S. across 28 states.
Schlotzsky'sfinished 2016 with nearly $331,660,468 in system-wide sales and opened 25 restaurants, according to the release. The company is continuing to develop Schlotzsky's national presence with qualified franchisees this year with a focus on continued growth in core markets of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and Louisiana and expansion into several states including Arizona, New Mexico, Georgia and Florida, according to the press release.
Schlotzsky's operates more than 350 franchised and corporate locations in 34 U.S. states and abroad.
