Consuming a few cups of daily coffee has been linked to a lower death risk, according to new research.
Biobank, a U.K. based database with health information from over half a million people followed for at least 10 years, found persons consuming a moderate amount of daily coffee, plain or sweetened, were around 30% less likely to die during a 7-year period than non-coffee drinkers.
The results were less consistent for persons using artificial sweeteners, according to Dr. Chen Mao, of Southern Medical University in Guangzhou, China, and co-authors in Annals of Internal Medicine, according to an abc15.com report.
