Mission Foods offering recipe program

Mission Food's Mission Fresh Ideas program contains recipes focused on food trucks to kids’ menus with corresponding recipes for each theme.

Mission Foods continues to offer the Mission Fresh Ideas program to assist operators looking for ideas to build profitable menus and maximize pantries. Each month, Mission Foods identifies a foodservice trend and corresponding recipes to feature on its website, according to a company press release.

"The Mission Fresh Ideas program is a great way for operators to stay on top of trends within the foodservice industry," said Rose Olcese, foodservice marketing manager for Mission Foods. "Operators can use these recipes to inspire both seasonal LTO’s and permanent menu items to enhance their operation."

Mission’s Fresh Ideas program contains recipes focused on food trucks to kids’ menus with corresponding recipes for each theme, the release stated. These trend-based recipes developed by Food IQ help operators cater to customers within all foodservice segments.

Some of the best 2015 Mission Fresh Ideas recipes are recapped below.

  • Chili Rubbed Halibut Tacos combine ingredients and spices into a taco. Yellow corn taco shells serve as the base for seasoned halibut fillets topped with cabbage, Pico de Gallo and Mexican sour cream.
  • Mini Breakfast Tortilla Tarts are mini pie-shaped. Mission Hearty Grains Ultra Tortillas serve as the base for these egg-filled tarts.
  • Mediterranean Shrimp Pinwheels contain roasted red pepper hummus, olive-artichoke relish and cocktail shrimp in a large flour tortilla cut into bite-sized pinwheels.
  • The Kalbi Kimchi Quesadilla Taco contains Korean-style short ribs combined with Kalbi, Kimchi and cilantro salsa. A Monterey Jack cheese quesadilla that has been folded over serves as the taco holder.
  • The Pistachio Raspberry Crisp Cone is a cone-shaped tortilla dipped in dark chocolate and filled with pastry cream, raspberries and pistachios.
