Miami Grill has sought out two of the top leaders in their respective fields to help the chain drive growth. It has elected Armando Christian "Pitbull" Pérez, a multi-platinum hip-hop artist, and entrepreneur Jordan Zimmerman to its board, according to a company press release
Pitbull, who owns the "Key to the City" of Miami, has built a charter school, launched his own radio station on Sirius XM and is a significant equity partner in the company, will help set growth plans for the chain. As Pitbull carries the spirit and soul of Miami, Zimmerman brings the same sense of ambitious entrepreneurship, fearless energy and strategy to Miami Grill, said Richard Chwatt, CEO.
Zimmerman, who has helped built successful brands including Papa John's, White Castle, Firehouse Subs and Boston Market, has been twice recognized for his generosity and philanthropic contributions to many organizations in Broward County, Florida, Chwatt said.
"Our goal with Miami Grill is to bring the taste and sensation of Miami to the market. Armando and Jordan know how to get us to more places, get there faster and with more success," said Chwatt, who is planning global growth. The company already has signed franchise rights in Panama, Hawaii and Saudi Arabia.
