Menchie's adds southern locations

Menchie's has opened two new southern locations. One is in Austin, Texas, and the other is in Jacksonville, Florida.

Menchie's has opened two new southern locations. One is in Austin, Texas, and the other is in Jacksonville, Florida, according to a company press release.

To celebrate the openings, both Menchie's will host seven-day grand opening celebrations from May 2 to May 8 packed with giveaways, including T-shirts, Menchie's merchandise, family friendly activities and free servings of frozen yogurt.

"Having been a preschool teacher for years, I have always loved being around children and Menchie's was another opportunity for me to continue to bring joy to my community and especially families," said Gabriela Pohl, the franchisee of the new Texas unit. "Menchie's mission of spreading smiles is perfectly in line with my own values, and I love how much passion the company puts into creating the most enjoyable guest experience."

Catherine Courtney, the franchisee of the Jacksonville location, is also excited.

"My husband and I were instantly impressed with the Menchie's franchise, not only because of their incredible product, but also the inviting and energetic environment in their stores," she said. "The company's values align with ours, and with Jacksonville being such a fun, family-oriented and community-minded town, it's a perfect fit for Menchie's."

The frozen yogurt chain now has more than 480 stores with locations open in the U.S., Canada, China, Japan, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and India. It expects to celebrate 600 stores in 2015, according to the company.
