Meatheads recruits Chicago Bears kicker for fundraiser

June 9, 2014

Meatheads is now offering a special burger, “The Goulden Burger,” created in honor of Chicago Bears kicker Robbie Gould and his public charity, The Goulden Touch. The burger features a one-third-pound Meatheads burger topped with bacon, lettuce, tomato, Ketchapolte, American cheese and spicy Cajun fries.

It is available now through Sept. 30 for $7 and Meatheads will donate 10 percent of the burger’s sales to The Goulden Touch. According to a news release, the Goulden Touch is Gould’s charity that supports education, social services, health and wellness and medical research programs in Chicago.

This is the second year Meatheads has participated in a fundraiser for the organization. Last year, 7,885 Goulden Burgers were sold, generated more than $5,000 for the cause.

New this year, Meatheads will also offer reading craft days, book fairs, guest author readings and more. All in-market events will help promote summer reading, in addition to Meatheads’ Summer Voracious Reading Program, which encourages kids 13 and under to read at least five books.
