McAlister's Deli, which is eyeing New Jersey and the metro New York-area for expansion, is ready to unveil its "Fast Casual Plus" hospitality model featuring a blend of casual dining comfort with the speed and efficiency of quick-service restaurants.
The approach has contributed to record-breaking first-week sales, a 30% participation rate in its loyalty program and systemwide sales exceeding $1 billion in 2024, according to the company.
The expansion into New Jersey and Metro New York represents a natural extension of McAlister's Deli's growth along the East Coast, complementing established markets in Virginia, Maryland, Washington D.C., and Eastern Pennsylvania.
"In a market saturated with grab-and-go options, McAlister's stands apart as a feel-good gathering spot with friendly service, a diverse menu spanning more than 159 items, and a culture centered on nourishing connections," according to the company, which is under the GoTo Foods portfolio
Backed by market research and real estate mapping, McAlister's Deli has identified significant development potential in both suburban and urban corridors across the target regions. The brand's typical prototype ranges from 3,100 to 3,500 square feet but offers flexible options, including formats as small as 400 square feet or second-generation urban sites around 2,200 square feet.
McAlister's Deli is seeking multi-unit operators with local market knowledge who prioritize building community-rooted businesses and leading teams focused on hospitality and operational excellence. The brand is offering limited-time incentives for commitments of three or more franchise agreements executed by Dec. 15, 2025, in select emerging markets.
Founded in 1989, McAlister's Deli operates over 520 restaurants across 29 states.
GoTo Foods, as McAlister's parent company, provides franchisees with enterprise-level support in technology, supply chain, marketing, culinary development and digital innovation.
