Max Brenner opened its Chocolate Bar this week in the lifestyle center of Bethesda Row in Washington D.C. The new location, according to a company press release, will offer delectable servings of chocolate that are shareable, pourable, dunkable and injectable. Signature menu items range from thick, hot chocolate and Choctails to creamy fondues, Pearl Sugar waffles, chocolate pizzas and chocolate-filled syringes.
Max Brenner’s most iconic dishes will be served in specially designed ceramic utensils, turning chocolate consumption into a chocolate ceremony. Guests will be invited to sip milk, dark or white hot chocolate out of a Hug Mug, a handle-less cup shaped like a cocoa bean; to dip roasted marshmallows in a Fire Water Tower full of creamy fondue; or to enjoy an icy Choctail from a signature Alice Cup complete with metal straw.
“Bethesda Row, with its uncommon combination of retail, entertainment and dining options, is the ideal location for Max Brenner’s Chocolate Bar,” said Sam Borgese, CEO, Max Brenner International. “We look forward to introducing residents of Bethesda to our chocolate culture.”
The Chocolate Bar’s interior was designed to envelope guests in the Max Brenner experience; vats of swirling chocolate greet guests as they enter, while chocolate pipes run the length of the ceiling and warm brown tones evoke a chocolate mood.
The location also incorporates a retail area, where guests can purchase gift sets and other chocolate treats to bring home, including the company’s bonbons, caramelized pecans, chocolate slabs and tablets, as well as its full line of ceramic utensils.
Headquartered in New York City, Max Brenner operates four Chocolate Bar restaurants in Boston, Las Vegas, Philadelphia and New York City, as well as more than 40 Chocolate Bars internationally.
