Mama Fu's names CFO

October 10, 2013

Mama Fu's has named John Hester to the corporate team as chief financial officer.

Joining the Mama Fu's executive team with more than 15 years of experience in all aspects of the foodservice industry, Hester adds dynamic leadership skills, a deep understanding of the industry, and proven track record implementing operational and sales strategies, said Randy Murphy, president and CEO of Mama Fu's.

"Our energetic leaders and dynamic team are what drives this brand in a positive direction," he said. "Mama Fu's is poised for growth as Asian cuisine continues to grow as a national trend among consumers and foodies. As we continue to strengthen our brand as a leader in the industry, John is an ideal addition to the team here to help direct and reflect that strength."

A graduate of The University of Texas with undergraduate and master's degrees in accounting, Hester began his career in public accounting auditing. He then joined Sysco, where he quickly became a divisional controller at various operating companies throughout the United States. He also served as corporate controller for Schlotzsky's Inc. during its high growth cycle, and was most recently the controller and CFO for an Austin-based Wendy's Franchisee. Hester is a CPA and resides in Austin, Texas, with his wife and three children.

"I'm looking forward to joining the leadership team at Mama Fu's. The concept is unique and their business model is proven," Hester said. "There's a clear passion for the business that can be seen throughout the system, and I'm excited to be part of it now. Working closely with the Mama Fu's team in place, I look forward to contributing to its continued success and national growth."

Mama Fu's has 15 locations currently open and 60 more restaurants in various stages of development.
