Louisville launches lunch spot inspired by Jewish delicatessens

September 5, 2017

Louisville will soon be home to Lox, a fast casual concept inspired by the tradition and flavor profiles of Jewish delicatessens that line the East Coast, according to a company press release.

Created by the partners behind the city's 5-year-old New American restaurant — Rye — Lox will cure salmon in house to create classic lox bagel sandwiches and offer a fresh seafood-based menu, said Restaurant Partner Thor Morgan.

"Just as Rye has become a staple for dinner and cocktails, we envision Lox as a go-to destination for Louisville's lunch crowd,"  he said. "Our Head Chef Zach Chancey and our entire team have developed a menu that is a true labor of love. As Rye celebrates a milestone five-year anniversary, we are proud to build on our success with a new lunch concept that promises to be fresh, creative and unique."

Patrons can pair their lunch with an afternoon cocktail or champagne, and Lox will offer party platters and catering for business lunches or those seeking a fresh brunch spread.

Lox opens Sept. 14, at 900 East Market St.
