Lobster-focused fast casual brand opens in NY Seaport District

November 9, 2018

Lobster GoGo, a fast casual brand serving freshly made lobster and seafood rolls and salads sourced from the waters of the North Atlantic, launched this week in New York's South Street Seaport neighborhood at 190 Front St., according to a company press release.

"We're excited to be opening in the dynamic Seaport District neighborhood and bringing Lobster GoGo's fresh and sustainable lobster and seafood rolls to the waterfront of lower Manhattan," CEO Douglas Alexander said in the release. "We are committed to providing a fresh and flavorful experience for our guests and are confident our to-go menu offerings will fit in seamlessly with the bustling neighborhood and retail district."

Culinary Director Gavin Citron curated the menu, which allows customers to order seafood on a top split butter-griddled bun or on a bed of field greens. Seafood options include: Deep Water Lobster, Sweet & Spicy Shrimp, Jumbo Lump Crab, GoGo Roll (shrimp, crab and lobster), Sushi Dice Tuna and Atlantic Salmon Poke. Other menu options include salads, soups, all-natural beverages, snacks and desserts from artisanal bakeries.

At just 400 square feet, Lobster GoGo's architect and designer, Paul Haigh of HAIGHArchitects, said it was important to create a design allowing form to follow function, according to the release. Design elements include sleek, white countertops and white-tiled walls with vibrant orange glass tile highlights, lively graphic designs, including a 14-foot lobster on the ceiling of the space and brushed stainless steel accents.

At all opportunities, Lobster GoGo strives to utilize recycled building elements reprocessed materials to packaging goods, and all ingredients are sustainable and sourced from certified fishermen and facilities, according to the release.
