Johnny Rockets opened its newest location this week in Lincoln Park; the 1,000-square-foot restaurant is Franchise Owner Bill Gomez's fifth Johnny Rockets location in Chicago.
"The Johnny Rockets menu consists of high-quality, made-when-you-order-it favorites which is why local families and businesspeople, in addition to tourists, frequent our restaurants throughout Illinois," Gomez said. "We want to bring our brand of all-American food and fun to Lincoln Park because it is an eclectic area with a variety of retail shops but few dining options. Shoppers now have a bright, inviting place to relax and enjoy our extraordinarily delicious comfort foods."
In line with Gomez's other non-traditional Johnny Rockets formats, the new unit will feature fast casual-style ordering, with walk-up registers and self-service beverage bars, instead of the brand's standard table service.
The Lincoln Park restaurant also features localized menu options to reflect some of Chicago's favorite cuisine items, including Chicago-style Hot Dogs, an Italian Beef Sandwich and meaty Rocket Wings served with local Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce.
Gomez is also the co-owner/operator of the Halsted Street Deli, in which he opened a co-branded fast casual dining concept with Johnny Rockets in two downtown Chicago locations - on State Street and La Salle Street. His other two Johnny Rockets restaurants are located in Bolingbrook and Naperville, Ill.
There are eight other Chicago area Johnny Rockets restaurants, including one in O'Hare International airport and three in Six Flags Great America.
